How to Enable 2FA Verification in Your Servebor Account

By Team Servebor on September 26, 2026

Keeping your Servebor account secure is important, especially when your account gives you access to VPS servers, billing information, invoices, and other account settings. Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an additional verification step after your password, helping protect your account even if your password is compromised.

Servebor supports Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) authentication for 2FA. Counter-Based OTP (HOTP) is not supported.

What You Need Before Enabling 2FA

Before starting the setup, make sure you have an authenticator application installed on your device.

You can use your authenticator application to either:

  • Scan the QR code provided by Servebor, or

  • Enter the displayed setup key manually.

Once configured, your authenticator application will generate the verification code required when signing in to your Servebor account.

How to Enable 2FA on Servebor

1. Open Your Servebor Account

Log in to your Servebor account and open the navigation menu.

Select Account from the menu panel.

Alternatively, you can use the Account Settings option available under Quick Actions on your account dashboard.

2. Open Security Settings

After entering Account Settings, you will see several sections, including Overview, Security, Billing, and Sessions.

Select Security.

3. Find Two-Factor Authentication

Scroll down the Security page until you reach the Two-factor authentication (2FA) section.

You will see an option to activate an authenticator.

Click Activate Authenticator to begin the setup.

4. Scan the QR Code

Servebor will display a QR code for your authenticator application.

Open your preferred authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed on the screen.

This connects your Servebor account with the authenticator application.

5. Use the Setup Key Manually When Needed

If you are unable to scan the QR code, Servebor also provides a manual setup key.

Select the option to add an account manually in your authenticator application and enter the key exactly as shown on the Servebor setup screen.

Important: Keep your setup key private. Anyone with access to this information may be able to configure an authenticator for your account.

6. Enter the Verification Code

After adding the account to your authenticator application, it will generate a one-time verification code.

Enter the current code in the verification field on Servebor.

Servebor uses Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) authentication. Counter-Based OTP (HOTP) is not supported.

7. Confirm Activation

Once you have entered the verification code, select Confirm Activation.

If the code is valid, two-factor authentication will be enabled for your Servebor account.

From that point onward, your authenticator code will be required as an additional verification step when 2FA is requested during sign-in.

Important: Servebor Accepts Time-Based Authentication Only

Servebor's authenticator-based 2FA uses Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP).

For security and compatibility reasons, Counter-Based OTP (HOTP) is not accepted by Servebor. When configuring your authenticator, make sure the account is added using a Time-Based authentication method.

Do not share your QR code, setup key, or authentication credentials with anyone. These details are used to associate the authenticator with your account.

What Happens After 2FA Is Enabled?

After successful activation, your password will no longer be the only security factor protecting your account.

When a 2FA verification is required, you will also need the current code generated by your authenticator application.

This provides an additional layer of protection for your Servebor account and its associated services.
